Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Priya Sridhar Carousel, my novella from Alban Lake, was inspired by multiple university orchestra rehearsals, where the auditorium was next to a clock tower situated in the campus's law school. The clock tower at noon started playing melodies during my sophomore year, and it would drive me nuts, especially since I couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from. The eerie but cheerful melodies, combined with writing in longhand at 7:30 AM most days when I got to campus, sparked a short story that then became a novella.

What are you currently working on?
Priya Sridhar Currently I'm working on several short stories, one for a Game Fiction anthology and the other is for an online writer's salon, and ideally will revise a novel called Neo Mecca Mayhem later this summer, which is a science fiction romance set in the Japanese city of the future.
