I have always enjoyed teaching in the workplace (I used to regularly conduct training when I was in the public accounting business) and writing books for me is a natural extension of that. I have always been an avid reader of business, investing and motivational books and I enjoy sharing my own views on those subjects.

I am currently working on a book about real estate investing for beginners. I started investing in real estate 10 years ago with little formal training other than having read a few books. I found that most authors offer up strategies that are too complicated or too difficult for the average person to execute. I adopted a strategy that didn't require a lot of money up front and didn't entail taking on a lot of risk and that's basically what the book is about.

I have always been interested in personal financial planning since I graduated from college with a 19.8% interest rate credit card that I could never seem to pay off. I find that our educational system doesn't do a great job in preparing individuals to manage their own financial affairs and if not taught by our parents, we must self-teach. During the Great Recession, I spent a lot of time reading, thinking about financial matters and writing about different investment and wealth-preservation ideas. As I did this, I began to form the concept of the Financial Fortress as a way to protect and grow your wealth that anyone could use. This was the inspiration for my book.
