I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond! I've been traveling and have gotten behind on my messages.
I have absolutely loved working with Booktrope. I've been able to choose a terrific team that includes an editor, proofreader, book designer, and marketing manager. I could never have had access to such top-notch professionals as a self-published author. I had previously self-published, I'm certain I wouldn't have been able to build a team like I have now.
I also find that being part of a community of authors who can share ideas and advice is wonderful. While there are other communities where authors can share advice, I've found this group to particularly warm and wise.
I've found I have a much broader reach with the cumulative marketing efforts and promotions coordinated by Booktrope.
All in all, an excellent experience. I'll continue to work with Booktrope for the foreseeable future.

Hi Mary,
High Strung was initially self-published in 2014. I signed with Booktrope, an independent published based in Seattle, last spring. The first step in working with the publisher was to re-release High Strung, which happened at the end of August. The second book, A Bead in the Hand, was also published by Booktrope and was released on Dec 5.

Hi Lisa!
I just finished the book over the weekend. I've liked all of the other Flavia novels, but this one, I am sad to say, I didn't care for. A little too "Harry Potter-ish" in the big castle, secret missions, teachers with grudges, etc. (I should add that I am a huge Harry Potter series fan.) I won't spoil the book for you, but I have hope for the next books in the series.
