Write, write, and write. Don't give up and don't let anyone, especially yourself, discourage you. I've always loved writing but it wasn't until the last few years that I decided to pursue a writing career. My new favorite quote right now is from Mark Twain, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do."

I got the idea for "Future Tense" when I was in high school. Every year, when we would return to school after winter break, I would write the date but put the wrong year. One day I wrote the wrong year, again, and I began to wonder what would happen if I wrote the date and traveled to that time.
