Read your work aloud. Record it if possible, and play it back the audio. You won't believe the number of typos, bad grammar, and awkward sentence structures that uncovers that you would otherwise miss. Your editors will thank you.
Christopher D. Ochs I am blessed to have two outlets for my creativity. One is the Lehigh Valley Storytellers Guild Story Circle. If I tell a story, and the audience reacts well to it, it gets written up. The last story I completed, I wrote in its entirety the day after I told it.

Christopher D. Ochs Just wrapped up a Poe-esque horror short story, 'Eight', that will go into a GLVWG anthology out 3/15. Several other short stories are in the works for my own collection, hopefully out 9/15.
Christopher D. Ochs After the 2nd of 6 nights of insomnia, I decided to do something constructive with the waking dreams and other fun stuff that comes from sleep deprivation. I started with a character, Pindlebryth, I had made up 7 years earlier, and the waking dreams and my sleep-deprived brain did the rest.
