I've found that if I keep several 'projects' in process at once, I can switch between them and sort of stretch my brain cells....like going for a walk down the aisle of a plane when you're on a long flight. To that end, I've started writing a couple of screenplays and also several short stories just to inject some variety into the writing and editing of The Greatest Pursuit, my current novel-in-process.

My current work in progress is a period piece set in the 1930's. It is the tale of an aging author who loses his way in his craft and in life but rediscovers both his talent and his zest for living as he strives to mentor and encourage an young boy from a poor background whom he meets in the park one day.

I moved to Prague, Czech Republic, several years ago - explicitly for the purpose of artistic inspiration. All I have to do is go for a long walk and look around the beautiful city where I live and I find all the inspiration I need. I feel fortunate to be in such a position and wish everyone who writes could feel so.

The story is an amalgam of personal experiences and those of people whom I've met in life. In the sense of 'realism' the story is as authentic as an autobiography - it is simply woven into the patchwork of a fictional set of circumstances.
