I watched a documentary on the history channel about how a man named Barry Clifford found a sunken pirate ship called the Whydah (wi-duh) Gally. "Black Sam" Bellamy was the pirate captain of that ship, but what I thought was interesting was his love for a woman named Maria Hallet, who was the driving force behind him becoming one of the most successful pirates of all time.
