Shayla Hart That's a great question! I kind of did a plot from my life with The Accidental Wife. Just like Shayla came home married to Cole, I came home engaged one day at 17 and my family flipped out. That whole scene with Shayla, her brother and Mum was actually based on true events.
Shayla Hart I try not to force it. If I have time, I try to take a step back and clear my head by watching a movie, listening to music or reading. If I'm on a deadline, then I write what I can, and if I don't like the way it flows, I can always go back and work on the parts I wrote while I was blocked.
Shayla Hart For me, the best part of writing is creating new characters and turning them into real people with feelings and issues that readers can relate to.

Also, escapism. Losing yourself while writing is such an amazing feeling. I see it all almost like a movie playing in my mind.
Shayla Hart I would say, start out by writing a short story first, just to get an idea of your writing style and voice. This is very important, try to be yourself, don't imitate another authors style. If you like their style find ways to make it your own.

If you feel the creative juices flow then keep on writing. If it's not then don't force it. Take a step back for a day, clear your head and try again.
Shayla Hart I'm currently working on my new WIP. The Dev and Tinks story mentioned in the previous question.
Shayla Hart There isn't just one thing that inspires me. I could be doing the most random things when inspiration strikes. Like, doing my make up, having a shower or listening to music.
Shayla Hart I'm a TikTok creator, and I acted out a POV of two childhood best friends who lived to annoy one another. The challenge was that they are supposed to be handcuffed together for 24 hours. My fans loved it and demanded I write a book on Dev and Tinks.
Shayla Hart There was a picture on my phone of me sleeping.
I live alone.
Shayla Hart Ooh, this is a tough question. My all-time favourite book is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, so I would probably choose that world and marry Noah myself :-)
Shayla Hart It's not so much a list as I don't get too much free time to read because I'm always working on a new project. I have wanted to read 'Who's That Girl, by Mhairi McFarlane. Heard great things, and I can't wait to free up some time to get some reading done.
