A love for wine and wine growing from my time in the vineyards as a teenager. I thought a vineyard would be the perfect setting for a murder.

I'm compulsively writing stories in my head, well not stories, but scenes. Out of scenes come characters, Good characters force you to write about them. They demand attention!

A couple of things. I am working on the first draft of Violet Vineyard's Murder Mystery #2, a Vintage to Die For. It's coming along well and features all of the (still living) characters from Dead on the Vine.
I also have another novel due out soon, Justice for None. It's set in Dallas, Texas and features a married couple, Valentine and Victoria Justice. Val is a retired police officer and Victoria is an attorney in the Dallas Count DA's office. It's much grittier than Dead on the Vine. The cover is being designed at this moment, so I'm compulsively looking back through the galleys making sure that every sentence has a period!

Read, read, read, and then read some more. Read what you love then read what the critics love. And pay attention! What works, what doesn't, what you loved, and what you hated. It's all research, of the most pleasant variety!
