I'm writing ON THE RIM, which is the prequel to ON THE MOVE. It's about the same kids who love to skate, and go on an eighth-grade trip to Europe together on Spring Break. But when they get separated from the rest of the kids in the class, they have to use a network of skaters starting in scary Marseilles to make their way back to Paris and meet their ride home.
I did a research trip on it this summer. Took lots of pix. Hit some great spots in Germany, France, Barcelona (street!) and even Andorra!

I knew a great group of 14-year-old skaters who'd been friends all through middle school. When they graduated, they spent the summer before high school together at an Element skate camp up in the San Bernardino mountains. ON THE MOVE starts with that great summer... and then imagines how they'd all hang and help one another out when a War starts that sends them on the move to find their families!
