The best way I deal with writer’s block is by taking a break from the story. If the characters are not ready to tell their story, the worst thing I can do is force it. Forcing the story will make it awkward and ruin the flow.

My characters come to me in dreams. It may sound odd but when I usually have an odd thought or two I jot it down on anything I can—index cards, lipstick on mirrors, sticky notes. You name it I’ve done it. The story takes on a will of its own, I am merely an instrument.
