Being able to put your work out there for people to read, hopefully making a connection with another human being—having the closest thing to a telepathic conversation as we're capable of (for the time being).

I'm currently working on my fourth novel, False Cathedrals. Without spoiling much, it's about dealing with the darkest pieces of your own psyche; whether or not you can overcome loss/your demons/growing pains of becoming an adult.

It varies from project to project. With my first two novels, I felt I needed to exorcise a lot of demons from my life. But with my third novel and current writing project, I've found myself obsessed with questions I'd like answered. Writing is my hopeful attempt to seek out answers, and perhaps learn about myself along the way.

There were a few elements of interest which ignited the creative fire for Arcadia: 1) I had always had an interest in simulation theory and wanted to explore my own ideas on the concept. 2) The story of Pan from Greek Mythology fascinated me, how he was the only Greek God to actually die; how his death coincided with the birth of Christ. 3) A real-life incident in the mid 90s known as the Norwegian Rocket Incident. And 4) Like the main character, I had been having recurring dreams of waking up in a cold, dark place surrounded by people in lab coats—I figured writing about it would make the dreams cease.
