Dean Kutzler This is a hard question for me, believe it or not. My writing schedule right now is very hectic. The pre-order of The Harrowing of Hell is due May 31st, and I have a new stand-alone due out in the fall. So, I'm focusing all my efforts on getting things done. My new release is actually a few people's summer read and I don't wish to disappoint!

But...I am definitely going to fit in Stephen King and Richard Chizmar's Gwendy's Button Box. I think (don't quote me) that this is Mr. King's first collaboration, and I'm very interested in reading it!

There will be plenty more books that will fill my head with excitement!
Dean Kutzler Oh—this is a good one! When I was just about nine years old, a friend and I saw a couple cars going into the graveyard a few houses down from mine. It was late at night. My friend was on his bike and I was walking. As we entered the graveyard, we could see up ahead that they'd stopped alongside the road. My friend, who's name shall remain anonymous, pedaled his little scardy-cat feet right out there, leaving me behind, all alone. Being the adventurer that I've always been, I proceeded to find out just what it was that they were doing. I crept along the graves, making sure I was out of sight until I reached the spot where the cars had stopped. Peeking around a large tombstone, I saw them flinging large boxes from alongside one of the graves, and into the car! Apparently, they had just finished burying something! Next thing I remember, I hear car doors slamming, then both cars slowly exit the graveyard. As they drove by the tombstone I was hiding behind, I carefully moved around it until they were further down the road and couldn't see me in the darkness. I stepped out onto the paved road and watched the last car pull through the wrought-iron fencing and leave. As I stood there, thinking about the excitement my scardy-cat friend missed, I felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise. Slowly, I turned around to find a dark figure, standing right behind me, close enough to reach out and touch me! Never, had my fat, nine-year-old body moved so fast! I ran out of the graveyard and didn't stop until I was home! The next day, I walked to the spot where they'd been, and I'd found a fresh shovel-full of dirt on the road, but could not find a spot where they had dug into the ground. To this day, that little mystery rolls around in my head, begging to be let out. Maybe, just maybe, one day, I will let it out and write/discover what had happened...
Dean Kutzler Mrs. Emma Peel and John Steed, from the popular British TV series from the 60s, The Avengers. Dianna Rigg exudes so much confidence as Mrs. Peel. She couldn't be bested and at the worst of times, John Steed (the actual lead of the show) would come save the day!
Dean Kutzler Sorry, not sure. Anything is possible!
Dean Kutzler The most fascinating fact...good question. That's ever-changing and one of the main reasons I write fiction. It's what drives my passion for writing. I find nothing more interesting than discovering factual, hidden history around the world and twisting those facts into my fiction.

The most fascinating fact to date was during the research for the second book in the Jack Elliot series, The Harrowing of Hell. I discovered that Jesus was not the man that the bible most people read today portrayed him to be.
Dean Kutzler Writer's block doesn't exist. That isn't how I deal with...honestly, it just doesn't exist. If you continually tell yourself something, then how can it be not?? Each book is different, but currently I have a goal of at least 500 words a day. Whether I write 1 or 1000, my butt stays in that chair until it is accomplished. The End.
Dean Kutzler The best thing about being a writer is that I get to get up every day and discover something new. Learning is a life-long process and discovery is definitely the fuel that feeds the need.
Dean Kutzler Something you'll hear from just about every writer's mouth: WRITE EVERY DAY. That is the best piece of advice I can give. The second would be to have patience & persistence.
Dean Kutzler I'm currently working on the 2nd book in the Jack Elliot Series.
Dean Kutzler Inspiration comes to me through what I call "Ah-HA" moments as I'm researching a new book. I often get lost discover one thing that snowballs, leading into another. Hours will go by if I don't watch myself closely when I research.
Dean Kutzler Book ideas for me are like chameleons. They morph as I'm developing them. The idea for the 1st book in the Jack Elliot Series started out with a little known worldly fact.
