Yes, I did and do. I acknowledged her on my dedication page in the front of my book. She was an air-evac nurse for a major trauma center and helped me a good deal in answering my questions and relating stories. I found her work quite interesting.

I am blessed that this doesn't occur often. When I do get stuck, I get up, get some more sweet tea (I'm a Texan after all) and take a walk outside in the fresh air. Always does the trick.

Never give up. Write everyday. Most important of all...write what YOU love to read. Believe in yourself always. Trust your gut instinct above all else. These are tried and true rules for a good reason...they work!

I was driving down the expressway headed to my hometown about 5 hours away. I caught a brief glimpse of a billboard...advertising flowers...and bam! By the time I arrived home, I had dictated 3 chapters as I drove. I had a friend go by and take photo of that billboard and if this book gets published, I want that photo on my cover!

The ideas hit me totally out of the blue. I can see a snippet of a billboard and have a whole story pop in to mind; hear a conversation in passing between strangers and another storyline is there; a helicopter flying overhead and a story is born and soon to be published! I never go looking for the next story...it always finds me.

I have four manuscripts I am working on, plus two books in edit stage for two different publishers.

Never knowing where my characters are going to take me. I might have an idea but they take over at some point and I hang on for the ride!
