Jacqueline Ward I don't get writer's block. I think that's because of other commitments I have to structure time to write and get on with it, otherwise I've missed my chance. I value any opportunity to write and settle into it quickly.

Jacqueline Ward I love writing and I need lots of things inspire me to write, both good and bad. I am inspired by news articles and by talking to friends, even by hearing a stray conversation on a bus or train.
Jacqueline Ward I got the idea for Random Acts of Unkindness from a conversation I had with a friend about phobias. My fear of dustbin men turned out to stem from the police visiting my home when I was a child to search dustbins for the victims of the Moors Murders. I wanted to write something about families of missing people.
