Hi! I'm sorry for such a delay! Some observant Jews, like Ellie, do not write out the name of God. Hence the hyphen in her POV.

(view spoiler)[will you be continuing the story for the Red Balloon? Loved it, but would like to know if she remembers or gets to find the others. I feel like I am hanging in there for an ending still/ (hide spoiler)]

Hi Kellyjo! Thank you for your question. I like the ending of THE GIRL WITH THE RED BALLOON where it is, so I'm not going to continue it. But if you remember the last chapter, I would highly recommend you go read the first chapter again. There's an easter egg in there for those readers who need it. :)

Hi! Thank you so much for asking. The Balloonmakers will not be a trilogy. This is a complete duology. I hope to write more historical fiction with speculative/fantastical elements in the future, though!
Katherine Locke
Hi! There will not be any more Balloonmakers books but I hope to continue to write historical fiction with fantastical elements in a similar vein!

I love fan art :) And if people make it, please tag me! I'd love to see it. And my opinion of fan art is that I'm glad that people love something enough to make art of it, to interpret it in their own way, and share it. That's awesome.

I did! I spoke with someone who is an above-the-knee left leg amputee (different cause) for both Second Position and Finding Center. I think a lot of Zed's frustration with movement has to do with his mental state of being, that losing the ability to do ballet like he used to do was losing a part of his identity. That's his journey in Finding Center.

It is a standalone book. There may or may not be other books in the same world (in terms of magic) but they will not have overlapping characters or take place in Berlin.

Oooh, great question. Most recently, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. Fun, fast paced, complex and thought-provoking YA fantasy!
