Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Alexander Fernandez The characters for my novel were actually separate characters from different stories I wrote in my youth. I put them all together with their personal traits, added their separate adventures, and was somehow able to form a single plot out of it!

How do you get inspired to write?
Alexander Fernandez I have always been inspired by fantasy books as a child. I lived in those stories, and was moved emotionally by the memorable characters. When I write, I hope to capture the spirit that moved me as a child and pass it on to readers.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Alexander Fernandez The best thing to do is remove yourself from the writing. Get away from the pen and paper, or the computer. Take a few days off from writing and before you know it, fresh ideas will pop into your head at random times. Jot those ideas down right away.
