I deal with writer's block by going for a long drive, alone, and talking to myself out loud. I verbally summarize where I am in the story and then start telling the story from there, like I would tell it to the world's best listener. By doing this, I can work through potential issues or inconsistencies very rapidly. I also find that this process gets me excited about writing the next part of the story.
