Hey Chad, I have loved every book by you! Would you ever consider having a live chat with me on my channel. I am not a big channel but love your writing, themes and approach to storytelling. Your novella Skullface Boy touched me profoundly. I loved how you bought to life a marginalized alienated character (who I relate to) and create a coming of age story I can re-read multiple times. I feel your books are all about damage, whether it be an old man struggling to let go or a child battling with abuse and trauma. Where does the inspiration come from that you can so intimately, visualize and portray such incredible damaged creatures?
Chad Lutzke Hey, Cliff. Thanks for the question! I'm an observant fellow with a great memory. I'm also very empathetic...to a fault sometimes, as I tend to get bummed out when I see others going through hard times. I've never had an issue with being able to myself in another's shoes. No idea where that part of me came from. Perhaps from my own trauma and hardships. I've been through a lot, seen a lot. And with this memory of mine, I don't forget what it's like.

Are there going to be more Garrett Walkinshaw stories?
Chad Lutzke I think it was one of the editors who asked me the same thing, saying they'd love to see a sequel. I hadn't considered it until then. Maybe I will. It really depends on SHED's response. But if I do, it'll probably be about Nadine's journey and told from her POV.

I have recently read skullbones, and I have loved it. The language is simple so I have been able to read it although my language is Spanish. I am from Spain and here I cannot find your translated works so bought it through amazon. the question is if your novella ' foster homes and flies' is difficult?

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Chad Lutzke Regarding OF FOSTER HOMES AND FLIES, while reading James Newman's MIDNIGHT RAIN there's a scene where a boy goes into the living room and his mom is sitting in her chair. Right away I thought: "What if she were dead? What would he do? What if he did nothing and why would he do nothing?"

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Chad Lutzke I don't get writer's block...I just get discouraged at times. Gotta fight through it and keep on writing. I force it if I have to.

What are you currently working on?
Chad Lutzke A serialized vampire novel titled PALE WHITE about three teenaged girls who, four years earlier, had been rescued from a sex trafficking ring by a vampire who has acted as guardian since then. Circumstances leave the three girls to fend for themselves while coming to terms with who they are now: Blood-thirsty vampires. It's a west coast road trip with revenge as a goal.
