I was about to do the youth chapter of a program called National Novel Writing Month, and I had yet to come up with an idea that I was really excited about for it. I went ahead and began to complete their word goal calculator (I had to type a random story at a regular pace). The random story included mermaids and time-travel. It was a like a light bulb went on. I was so excited! National Novel Writing Month is a great resource for writers.
