Elizabeth Bodien When it comes to poetry, almost anything can inspire me -- a word or phrase, the look of sunlight through a tree, how the wind sounds like music, someone else's writing, the feel of solid ground under my feet, the look of the sky at night -- I could go on.
Elizabeth Bodien I don't have a problem with writer's block. I can't explain it. I don't know why but I just have not experienced it yet.
Elizabeth Bodien Read, read and read. Keep writing. Be willing to revise, even those bits which at first might look perfect. It helps to set things aside for some time so when you discover them again, you can read them fresh as if they were written by someone else. When you are less attached to the writing, your chances of being objective as you revise are improved.
Elizabeth Bodien One good thing about being a writer is the delight in seeing what shows up on the page when I set pencil to paper and see what comes of it.
