Don't write to make money, because 1) you won't enjoy the process. It's simply too much work and sacrifice of personal time. 2) write for yourself, and you're blessed if other people enjoy your work. :-)

I take a walk. Then I put myself into the story and dictate into my phone. I'm sure I've received some odd looks from the neighbors! lol.
