I started in High School when a lot of my English classes had us write creative short stories or revise other stories.
I had three English teachers in particular that really drove me to want to write for a living. Some of the practices that one teacher had us do really got the creative juices flowing.
"Write a story as a metaphor for something else. You can't talk about what it is you are comparing in the story." It seemed a simple idea. I got to work on a story about the walking dead (the usual zombie type story) that had become a unified mob working toward the capitol of the nation. This story was written because a family member had cancer, and the pain and suffering that such a disease can cause seemed a good comparison.
I wrote that short story, and something clicked. I liked the way it felt when I wrote how I saw things. I liked how people enjoyed what I wrote. And so I keep writing, because it just feels right.

Just keep at it. The more you write the better you can get. No matter how odd the story is or how different the ideas someone out there will enjoy it.
As authors that's our goal, and you should take pride in being a person who can take your imagination and put it to paper. Just keep writing.

I am currently working on the third book in my series. "The Soul's Famine" is the working title for the story. It will be set in South Africa with a young woman as the lead character.
I'm looking forward to publishing this book as it takes a very different perspective on the Horsemen. I hope people will keep an eye on my various pages and look forward to reading it.

My books are a series. I got the idea when I was in High School. The idea of the Apocalypse, that pivotal moment in humanity, was an interesting concept for me.
So I wanted to write about it in a way that mixed my ever-changing views of spirituality and the world with the dramatic End Times. I thought looking at the Horsemen as humans would be an interesting way of connecting with those that bring the great changes to the world.
And so the Four Horsemen (Conquest, War, Famine, Death) were born. Two more introductions need to be written about the last two Horsemen, but soon the combined story of all four will start. The ideas just keep coming.

That I get to share my ideals with the world. I get to do what interests me, discuss it, and have people read/enjoy it.
But the absolute best part of it all is when someone asks me questions or talks about the stories with me. I love discussing the ideals and events of the stories with readers. Seeing their enjoyment makes it all worth while.

I personally like to sit back with a variety of music. I will also imagine the story playing out in my head; parts that I know I want to get to farther down the line. Thinking through other aspects of the story often helps me figure out some connection to the part I'm having an issue with. Between the music and foresight of the story I calm myself down and get into that writing zone again.
