Ian Foutz After showing pictures of the Pluto New Horizons flyby to my friends for the 20th time, I figured I should finally write an outer space-themed book. It is my greatest love, and it was time to see what I could do with it.
Ian Foutz Because I was stuck in China, had nothing to do for a month before my teaching job started, and was too shy to leave my apartment. The World Cup had ended, and I needed something to do because I was tired of sleeping for 15 hours a day. So I started writing, and I have never looked back.

Ian Foutz Keep trying. There are many times that a story won't work, and many people who might not like the stories you're writing. But as long as you keep pressing, seeking feedback and editing, your stories will assume their best shape. Write stories for yourself.
Ian Foutz Being creative! I love to imagine new worlds and sculpt them into being, or think of a unique take on a story or genre that I love.
Ian Foutz I usually like to take a drive and just let plot threads run through my head. No radio, no talking, just listening to the story unfold and take me where it needs to go.
