Hi! I love that you support authors of Christian books! I'm always looking for reviewers to join my launch team. Here's a link that tells a little more about my team and how things work. https://mistymbeller.com/about/join-m... If this sounds like a good fit for you, just reach out to me through that page. Thank you so much, Timothy! I'm so grateful (and thrilled) you enjoyed the story! I think it may be another couple weeks before Amazon is available to post reviews, but I'll let you know as soon as it is. Blessings!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the series, Timothy! I think that series is complete, but my newest series is a spin-off. You'll recognize some of the characters from "The Lady and the Mountain Call" in book 1, "This Treacherous Journey." And in a future book in the new series, we'll get to see Reuben Scott again (maybe a little older). Hope you enjoy this new series!

That's a great question, Elizabeth! I usually have an idea in my mind of who the character is and basically what they look like, but it's always so helpful to find a real person to look at as I write. So, I get a lot of my character inspiration pictures from Pinterest! When I'm looking for images for a specific character, sometimes I find images for a later character, so I keep a file of those for later use.
Characters are usually my favorite part of the story, so finding the perfect images really helps my brainstorming process!

Hi Sharon!
Yes! This Wilderness Journey will release in paperback around the same time as the ebook release (April 24th, 2018). There's something special about feeling those real paper pages and smelling that wonderful book essence, isn't there. :-)
I pray you enjoy the story!
Blessings!

Hi Beverly!
Wow, great question! When I'm developing a storyline, I always pray that God will show me the story He wants me to write. For this one, I don't remember a specific "aha!" moment when I decided to weave dementia into the lives of the characters. I think it was more a gradual thought that took hold. As I worked through it, the pieces of the story came together around Mrs. Scott and her challenges. But let me tell you, some parts weren't easy to write!
So many of the scenes about Mrs. Scott were actually memories I have of my great-grandmother who struggled with dementia while she lived with us when I was a child. Many of them are now fond memories, even if they were hard to deal with at the time. Now, the issue hits even closer to home in my life because a very close family member is struggling with the early stages of dementia. It's so hard to watch the changes, but I'm trying to treasure every moment.
I've heard from so many readers who've cared for a relative with dementia, and I'm amazed at how many lives it affects. My empathy and prayers go out to those who have been impacted by the disease.
Blessings!

I've always been fascinated by mountain cabins, secluded in majestic settings. And I love the simpler life, where there's no rat race. Just hard work, plenty of alone time (can you tell I'm an introvert?), and a strong family unit. I combined so many of these loves into The Lady and the Mountain Man, there are some days I just want to go live with Gideon and Leah!

I'm so excited about my WIP (work in progress)! I'm calling it A Pony Express Romance:
Growing up as an orphan, Josiah English wants nothing more than to have his own ranch and raise Arabian horses. Riding for the Pony Express is the ticket to his dream. And when he meets the stationmaster’s beautiful daughter, it seems the final puzzle piece is in place to form the happy life he craves.
Mara Reid is thrilled to finally meet the man of her dreams, and the fact that they both want to raise horses in the Sweetwater River valley seems like confirmation straight from God.
But when the Express shuts down and disaster strikes Mara’s family home, will Josiah learn what’s really important? Can Mara ever trust again?

Writer's block is no fun, but it's part of writing!
If I know basically how the scene should go, but I'm just having trouble putting decent words together, my only cure for writer's block is forcing myself to sit at the computer and WRITE! The words are usually crummy, but I give myself short 100 word goals. After I get through the first 200-300, things usually get easier.
If I have writer's block about how the story should go, sometimes it helps to sit at the computer and brainstorm every possible way this scene could unfold. Some of the things on my brainstorm list are unbelievably dull, and some are pretty far out there! I always come up a scene I love, though.
