I go for a walk and try to be around other humans. Humans are full of powerful stories and those stories are written in their faces, attitudes, the way they walk and talk--when I'm feeling stuck I simply try to immerse myself in the world and suddenly I find myself ready to start again.

Being able to share stories with the world. I have lived in them for so long, writing them down and sharing them is terrifying and wonderful all at the same time.

Find a writing routine. The more you write, the more inspired you become and the better off you will be. Time is valuable and is the currency you cannot waste in this world, finding a routine will help you maximize your output. Even if you feel as though what you are writing is not good in a first draft--just keep writing.

I have finished writing two more novels and am in the process of editing these and am currently working on a novel that explores dueling points of view. It's been kind of an adventure.

Honestly, I've constantly got stories floating in and out of my brain, so it isn't as much finding the inspiration as it is finding the time to sit and write the stories down. I'm incredibly blessed with inspired ideas and hope to be blessed with more in the future.

This past November I participated in NaNoWriMo, and the inspiration for the novel, which was a product of this month long intensive writing process, was the bravery and amazing grace of my good friend Sarah Ferguson Garcia. I dedicated the novel to her because I tried to honor her life with the characters in the novel. Sadly, she passed in November and the novel, I hope, does her memory justice.
