If the words aren't flowing, I usually switch to another task. Sometimes the story needs more time to form itself, or the characters need to be alone. So, I give them their space until they're ready to start talking again!

I really get excited about the stories I'm planning to write, and when a reader tells me they liked my story and can't wait for the next to come out, that motivates me even more to get down to business and write them a great book!

Being a writer gives me the chance to express my creative side. It may sound like a cookie-cutter answer, but my creativity is something I ignored for a long time. I wasn't even sure I had it in me anymore, but by sticking to my desire to write stories that make me happy (and hopefully readers too!) I've come to realize that even creativity long stifled can be renewed again!
I must add that in being a writer, I have the chance to send a message with my stories. Sometimes I write for pure entertainment, but other times, I have something to say, and I say it through a story. Writing gives me a voice unlike anything I've ever had before.
