Stanley Phillips Do not take yourself so seriously, and do not be in a rush to write the great American novel. Writing should be fun. When you feel pressed, or your thoughts become dry...go outside and smell the roses. Life is meant for living; thus, writing is a part of life...not the other way around. That in itself is a hard lesson to learn.

I have been writing for many years with limited success...mainly due to my efforts, or the lack of effort. However, that does not mean I would be willing to give up a single day that I have spent with the people I know and love. They are a big part of who I am, and the manner in which I write.

Stanley Phillips The best part of being a writer is that I'm able to expand my dreaming. The possibilities are endless. Due to the fact my family moved a lot, I grew up pretty much alone. This factor gave me a lot of time to dream, and to write pretty much what I wanted.
Stanley Phillips If I'm tired, I stop writing. If I am rested, I can easily go off to another story. However, there are times when I'll limit my writing to dialogue. I find just limiting myself to just dialogue I can gain insight to the characters...it might only be banter...but, it gives a direction in which to go in.

Also, I'm reminded of an old adage...stop and smell the roses. Don't rush to complete a novel, a poem, or anything you do...life is precious, and so very fleeting.

Remember whatever you do, you are leaving a part of yourself...and, I am not only speaking of your writing, but also everything you say and do you gives a bit of yourself.

Stanley Phillips I am currently writing a book titled "Far Away From Now", a time travel novel set in the 1940s. The story itself is taking a theme I wrote many years ago as a movie script. The screenplay was considered for production. However the work was not picked up.

Thus, I am taking the story to a different avenue in hopes of getting the story published instead.
Stanley Phillips To tell you the truth; ideas can come at anytime, even when I am trying to fall asleep. You could say I am a dreamer.
Stanley Phillips The idea for "Reign of Valor" has been with me since I was fourteen years of age. In fact, I have been writing the novel since then, adding characters and subplots as time went along. Of course, I have written other stories over the years. However, few have caught my imagination as "Reign of Valor".
