For Falling, I got the idea when I visited my father in his apartment which has a fantastic window and balcony. Just glancing over the railing made me woozy! What would happen if I had to live there? What would happen to someone who was afraid of falling who had to live in an apartment that was all windows?

Take writing classes. Read everything about writing craft that you can find. Join your local writer's groups and attend conferences. In other words, learn all that that you can about writing and publishing.

Thankfully, I've never had writer's block. When I'm facing a particularly sticky problem that's stopping me from writing, however, a good brisk walk usually helps.

Absolutely the best thing about being a writer is that I can work anywhere in the world. Right now I'm in Belgium! In a few weeks I'll be in Washington, DC. But if the mood strikes, I suddenly get a fantastic idea for the story I'm working or if my guilty conscience tells me I should be working while I'm on vacation, I need only pull out my laptop and *boom*, I'm at work.
