What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Kim McMahill I've read the first three books in the Dune series. I have most of the rest, but just need a big chunk of time to jump back in. First, I have a few other series I want to finish up including The Survivor Series, Sin of Duty, and Gone.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Kim McMahill I can't think of any mysteries in my life, but I do incorporate a lot of life experiences into my suspense novels, especially my travels and my youth (much of it spent on horseback). In Big Horn Storm I couldn't have written the harrowing horseback escapes in the rugged mountains without having had that "Man from Snowy River" moment as a teenager while on a cattle drive. If anyone has a specific novel of mine in mind, I'd love to share the real life experiences that inspired specific scenes.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kim McMahill Luckily, writer's block hasn't been an issue. In fact, I occasionally have the opposite problem - I'm unable to sleep because too many ideas are running through my head.
