My horror-with-a-twist story, Darker Still, came to me in a flash, in the middle of the night, when I woke up feeling the cold. It was pitch black and I thought I heard something, that there was something in the room. There wasn't, thank bugger.

Reading helps. Take a long walk. Listening to music. One or more of a combo of those activities. Sooner or later, the block's gone and often the writing is better afterwards and I'm all the more grateful for getting back into the swing of things.
