I watch a movie or read a book that provokes a response from me. If something touches me or makes me angry, I will respond. The only time I experienced serious writer's block was when my then un-diagnosed ADD Depression smothered my self-expression. When I overcame that, the words came easy.

I did not realize my first book would be a memoir / self-help book until Fall 2010. I knew my story was important and I wanted to help others with it, but the concept did not take hold until I had moved to Mexico. While in Tampa, a close friend had a dream that described Making Other Plans in intricate detail two years before I started putting it together.

The sequel to Making Other Plans is already in pre-production and will be called Border Crossings. I plan to publish a poetry compilation, called Screams to a Metronome, when Border Crossings hits post production.
