When I'm stuck, I go back and work on edits. And if I don't have any edits, I like to pull out an old project and work on that. Without a doubt, staring at my computer screen for hours does not work!

My favorite part of reading is losing myself in the story. You know what I mean...You finally close your book and look around and for a moment you feel a little disoriented. Its like a re-entry. Writing is the same for me, except sometimes after I close my laptop, the story continues on. So if you're ever talking to me and I suddenly go glassy-eyed, just give me a little pinch to bring me back into the real world.

Keep writing and make a commitment to it. Listen to the critiques of other experienced writers and readers, but remember in the end it's your story.
