Dorothy Stephens I'm currently working on another novel, about Kate, her husband Marc, and their two small children, who live in married student housing at a large university after World War II. The units in flimsy, wartime barracks-like buildings lack hot water or refrigerators, are heated with coal stoves and have wood stoves for cooking. The story is told from Kate's point of view, as she struggles to make a life in such primitive conditions, with no car and little money, and a student husband who spends a great deal of time in a study group with the beautiful Amanda.

The book, A Door Just Opened, will be released by Fire & Ice on September 25.
