D. Emery Bunn A play-by-post campaign where to apply you needed to present a fully-formed land with adventure hooks and other juicy bits the dungeon master could use. I thought “hey, I can do that, and that sounds cool, too!” I took a shower while thinking about it, and one sentence formed: “idyllic, peaceful pastureland…except for when the apocalypse comes.” Everything built from there.
D. Emery Bunn I'm working on a cyberpunk novella called Nikolay, in my Normalization setting. A forced-to-be-normal person wants to be abnormal, and is willing to sacrifice almost anything to make that happen.

D. Emery Bunn It depends on the kind of writer's block.

"I don't wanna start" - I set a specific time that I will write/edit/revise each day, and stick to it. I also stick either a time period (writing) or a word goal (writing and editing). No excuses, I just do.

"I don't know where to go" - I write anyway. Anything that feels outright wrong will be like pulling teeth and I'll delete and try a different angle. Anything else is the right direction to go in.

"I have no idea what I want to do next" - Sorry, I can't help you here. I'm overflowing with ideas, and it's a curse.
