Dolores Andral Writing multiple stories at once! From picture book to middle grade to young adult to adult.
Dolores Andral The control you exert. You can make your character do what you want, you can change history, you can create life, you can kill it.

And I love the different worlds that's only limited by your imagination. When I was a new/young mom, my favorite thing to do at the end of the day was to go to my story about a frustrated mom. This wasn't "my" story, in fact the mom in the story was so much worse off than me that it made me feel good!

And I'd leave with a feeling of, glad I'm not her!
Dolores Andral This sounds so cliché, but edit, edit, edit! Hats off to those that can write a 300-page novel in six months, but I think most of us will have to revisit to get it right.
Dolores Andral Such a loaded question! I don't mean this lightly, but I swear I suffer from ADD. I have two completed novels that I am editing, and I've just undertaken writing a middle grade novel, a YA novel, and a fantasy novel! It keeps me from writers block, I must say!
Dolores Andral The world around me inspires me. Writing was like another form of communication. I feel like I having a conversation with myself about life. While I'm not given to memoir writing, I tend to write real-life issues in my fiction, but in a way where I control the story.
Dolores Andral My children, of course, as well as the children I taught in preschool. Children have such a wonderful nature about them, and everything is so black and white. They either hate you or they love you. They either like something or they're allergic to it. They either want to live at home or on the moon. It's such a wonderful thing!
