Write whatever you want to write about, because if you like your own story there is probably a market for it.
Also, if you are a self-published author like me, have someone with editing expertise edit your books. (And I'm not talking about just copy editing, I'm talking about taking out unnecessary passages, etc.)

Getting print copies of Unicorn Hunting made. I'm also working on its sequel, the sequel to my unpublished book Her Dark Highness: The Myth, The Magic, and another fantasy book unrelated to either.
