What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Sean Cameron In 2008 my cousin and I took a trip from England to New York. After a drunken night out I lost my cousin and spend the majority of the trip trying to find him. Spoiler: I found him in a New York jail.

How do you get inspired to write?

Sean Cameron Since my series is a comedy mystery I enjoy looking at the normal conventions of the mystery genre and come up with ways for my characters to mess it up. I also take long walks and make notes of every idea on my phones notepad app.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sean Cameron I watched Munich, which is a very serious film and thought it was interesting how much the Mossad agents messed up their mission. I thought of how much fun it would be if James Bond messed up as much as they do. Since a spy is still trained and needs to be competent I made my character's unlicensed private detectives. That gave me the freedom to have completely incompetent characters with no skills.
