Hi Kate! Thanks for the question. The best advice I got was to focus on doing the types of promo you like and are comfortable with (vs. spreading out to every social media avenue available.) So based on that, I focused on places where I personally enjoyed connected with people - specifically fellow writers and readers. I started a blog with some fellow writers I met at a work shop, started using twitter to connect with fellow writers and readers, built my facebook author page and website, and that was about it. Now that the book has lunched there's been more promo via my publisher (blog tours, interviews and a few upcoming signings) and I've leveraged the platforms I'd previously build to help get the word out. I've also participated in giveaways and contests that help connect me with potential readers (like the YA Scavenger Hunt, Goodreads and YABC) and I had a lunch party with friends and family (which was very fun!)
