I would like to say, Clemente Morales & Ashleigh Lovett from The Melissa Ring, but you probably want a different answer. I guess my favorite couple from someone else's book is Noah & Allie from The Notebook.

The glamorous aspects of a writer's life made popular by Hollywood do nothing for me. My favorite thing about being a writer is doing the research. Before I wrote about second sub-basements in The Melissa Ring, I researched the topic including checking local water tables on a government website to see if it were even possible. Before I connected the history of the Melissa Ring to real people and events from ancient history, I researched those people and events. And because my protagonist rides into town on a motorcycle, I shopped for one almost to the point of making the purchase. It's the research that makes the story come alive for me; and so, it's my favorite part.

I always have one primary project on which I'm working; but I also have a couple of secondary projects and dozens of tertiary projects at the ready if I ever get bored or sit idle for too long. If work slows down or stops on one project, I simply change projects for a while. When I return, I find the obstacle is gone and work can resume.
It also helps to keep my mind regularly stimulated with new things, whether with new books, new movies, new music or whatever. The mind craves novelty, so feed it.
I don't get writer's block; and If you endeavor to always have several inlets of inspiration and several outlets of expression, you won't get it either. It's all about creative flow!

I am currently writing Book 2 of Gray's Forrest, entitled The Gargoyle's Chant; it should be available for purchase in Fall 2015!
