The book I'm about to publish, I got the idea from an article I read about assassin novels. The idea bloomed into something exciting that I had a great time reading.

I mostly get inspired by reading. I've said I read a lot and I do. I try to read at least 80 books a year. Some of those may be re-reads, even within a year, but I'm still reading. And the re-reads are the books that inspire me the most. The best part about reading as a writer is finding new ways to write, new boundaries to push, it's an awesome thing.

I currently have a lot of projects going on. I am working on releasing my first book, Gravel Ghost, which is a YA thriller, coming out in December, I also am working on revising the second book for that series and finishing up writing the third book. I also have a contemporary YA I'm working on and almost done with. I'm hoping to write some companion books to go along with that. Once I publish my first novel, I plan to keep publishing as many books as I can.

My advice would be just to write and read as much as you possibly can. I got into writing because I read...a lot...and I thought, why can't I write? I love all these stories I'm reading and there's no reason why I can't write my own stories that draw people in and create book hangovers. My main goal in writing is to create book hangovers, because they're so much fun to recover from.

I get to do what I love. I get to make up these complicated stories about awesome characters. I also love that I can do what I love all day long and it doesn't bother anyone :)

I don't really believe in writer's block, although, I do believe in getting stuck sometimes. When this happens, I either work on writing something else, go on a long walk to clear my head or I change my medium. If things aren't flowing on the computer, I pull out a notebook. I have about 1200 pages filled in notebooks, because that's where I love to write the most.
