The message of my book is from a Bible study I have been teaching for 10 years. The book of Ruth - and particularly Boaz, her husband - gave insight and power to the theme of how a man is designed by God to love a woman.

Two influences really inspired me to write this book.
1. The people that have heard me teach these principles over the last 10 years.
2. The belief that God wanted me to write it.

I am currently writing Bible studies and refining an Accountability Program that wrote 2 years ago. I am also thinking about book number 2 which is a follow up to "5 Things".

Write it! Every time you think of something you want to include, write it down in a notebook or journal. Put it in an organized fashion later.
Write words that bring life. When the written word is something that endures forever - seek to bring hope and life and truth to a world that is hungry for those very things. Even if it is out of tragedy or failure - hope breathes life.

The best thing about writing is your message can continue for much longer than you do. When my teaching/speaking days are few or over, it is so exciting to know that the timeless message in my book will continue to be heard. It makes my heart happy.

I just back away from the project for a little while. Sometimes a few hours, sometimes weeks. Just serving other people and doing life in other areas always brought me back to a fresh view and clear thoughts on what I needed to write. Sometimes just a getting a big ol' half & half tea from Sonic (w/a lemon & lime) would do the trick!
