I got the idea for my second book from my first book. I was writing about twin six-guns when that triggered a whole new story about twins who can both shoot. The challenge is that in the old West can they sense one another's pain and joy. That's something that I will be exploring.

I always have thoughts in my head about scenes or characters and I want to develop them into a story that others will want to read. Or I read, see or hear something that makes me go, hmm, that would make a good story. And then I grab my notebook and jot it down, even flesh it out into an outline.

I'm currently working on my second Western novel and it's gone through a few revisions in the outline stage. It's making for a better story and I'm now ready to sit down and begin writing it.

Do not give up...ever! My first book was written 25 years ago and with the ability to self-publish I now have it completed and am working on my next one. When you have the passion to write you must write, there's just no way around it.

Creating new worlds with new people and writing about their passions and conflicts. I rejoice and suffer with them as if they're my own family...even the villains.

I typically go for a walk, go through my idea notebooks, or simply start a new piece such as a poem, a short story, or even research something that I'm interested in.
