Byddi Lee She took one last look at the amputated hand in the wooden box then closed the lid. The scratching of nails on the wood from inside it made her drop the box.
Byddi Lee Straight off, I'd say Narnia! When I was a kid I used to sit in my wardrobe hoping it would lead me to Narnia. Once there, I would talk to the animals, of course! I'd explore the ocean and follow the journey to the edge of the world to drink the sweet sea water and see the mer-people.
Byddi Lee It has to be Rhett Butler and Scarlet O Hara. I love their glamor and their mischievous side too, how they buck against convention. I love how he sees her as she really is and (for most of the story) he accepts her for that even though it goes so much against the idea of what a woman was supposed to be in that era. He sees and admires her strengths and can tolerate her weaknesses - such as her vanity. She finally comes to see him in his true light too, maybe too late, but we are always left wondering... what happens tomorrow because after all tomorrow is another day!
Byddi Lee I'm writing the first book in a trilogy set in the fairly near future. It is set in Ireland in a world where the ice caps have melted and it deals with reverse aging.
Byddi Lee Just do it. Don't be afraid of criticism, in fact embrace it. Learn from a good critique and listen to all advice offered. But bear in mind that you don't need to follow all that advice. Be brave. Join or start a good writing group.
Byddi Lee I'm a big talker and I have a really vivid imagination. Writing gives me a place to put all those words thoughts and ideas. It helps me to de-clutter my brain and yet have something entertaining at the end of the day.
Byddi Lee I sit down at the computer until I've written something, anything. Usually the more I struggle to bring it out the more I look at it later and like it. It's a case of just doing it.
