Hi Alla, thanks for reading my books! I am a morning writer. If I have a lot of writing to do, I may start very early, before breakfast and dog-walking. Normally, I start around 9 a.m. and write until noon. Then I do business and sometimes revisions later in the day.

Good question! It would probably be something from the hills and hollows of Appalachia. Both of my parents grew up in that setting, and the speech and nuances and stories really resonate in my writing. Lots of history, lots of mystery there...

My advice is that you READ and WRITE. A lot! You have to know your genre very well, as well as avid readers know it, which means you need to be reading on the level of a book a week for a long time. And you need to practice getting the words down on paper, figuring out story lines, building characters people will love. A writing program, like the one I teach in at Seton Hill University, can help, but you still have to do a lot of work on your own. Fortunately, if you're meant to be a writer, both reading and writing are great fun for you!

Working at home with my dog and cat at my side! Just kidding. The best and most exciting thing for me is when readers tell me their faith has been strengthened or that they've felt God moving them while they're reading my books. That's when I feel like what I do makes a difference. I'm amazed and honored and humbled that God can speak to people through a flawed person like me.

I'm finishing up the Sacred Bond series of novels! HER REUNION BOND releases on December 15th, and A DOCTOR'S BOND will come out early in January. That's the last story in this series, but there are two spinoff series in the works . . . ask me about them!
