I work on multiple projects at once. If I am having a hard time with one, I just walk away and work on something else for a while until the logjam clears. If it gets really bad, I just stand up and yell "Screw it! I have a day job!" and stomp my way out to the car and go chase bad guys. Something always happens to give me something to write about.

The positive feedback from the fans. It is truely uplifting when fans go out of their way to tell me how much they have enjoyed a book or short story. Getting a check is nice too!

Write the book! People tell me all the time "I'm going to write a book about..." or "You should write about..." Just do it! The hardest part is sitting down and starting that first one. After you've written a few books, it will be editing that becomes a chore. But write the book, everything else falls in line after that.

I am currently working on two more books in the 'Gone Fearl' series: 'The Other side of Me' a story about a Pastor in Gulfport Mississippi, who is poisoned and becomes an absolute monster. And 'A Day Better Than Yesterday' a story about recovering Los Angeles after the breakdown. I have a sequel to 'The Locker' cooking in my head as well.

Just watching life around me. My book 'The Locker' is based almost entirely on my personal experiences.

I have been a zombie fan for a long time, and have always wanted to write in the genre. I saw a news story on TV about a man who had gone crazy and tried to eat another man after taking 'Bath Salts'. I modified that a little to fit the zombie theme by having people be able to pass on the chemical through a bite. My 'zombies are more of the 28 days later kind that can be killed any which way.
