Jude Knight I sleep, and dream that we have been rescued; that my beloved and I no longer float, starved and thirsty, on this endless sea; that my hunger and thirst are appeased at last. I wake and find that the last is true, but the taste in my mouth is blood and I am alone.
Jude Knight The Shire, after the battles and trials are all over, to sit and have a drink with Merry and Pippin and hear their stories. Such adventures are more fun to read about than to enjoy!

I live in New Zealand, and a couple of years ago, my beloved and I went to a Hobbit Feast in The Shire's Rest in Hobbiton, with visiting American friends Carol Roddy (Caroline Warfiled) and her husband. It was amazing fun. I'd love to do that for real.
Jude Knight I'm coming into winter, way down under. But that aside, my reading list is growing ever larger! I'm about to start a final proof read of Blind Tribute, by Mari Anne Christie. This historical novel tracks a newspaper editor who refuses to take sides in the American Civil War, alienating himself from family and friends both in both the North and the South.

I am waiting impatiently for Caroline Warfield's third in The Children of Empire series.

I still haven't read all Mary Balogh's Survivor series. When I complete the first draft of my next novel, I'm going to reward myself with a Balogh binge.

And I have Lucinda Brant's murder mysteries on my kindle, waiting for me to dive into them. Looking forward to that a lot.

Add to that quite a few research books --- Redcoats Against Napoleon, Secret Service: British Agents in France, and others.
Jude Knight Good question! I can think of quite a few in my heritage; for example, my husband's ancestor who appeared in an orphanage and didn't seem to have any history before that (we tracked back and found that the orphanage had changed his name), the family with the same (unusual) name that my grandparents' generation denied as relatives (a great great uncle had married someone of whom the family disapproved). My own life has been pretty much an open book, though I'd still like to know where all the odd socks come from.
Jude Knight Pamela, my books are mostly for sale on Amazon as ebooks, and are also on sale at Smashwords in mobi version, which is for kindle. To get books from Smashwords onto your kindle, or the free stories I give away with my newsletter, email them to your kindle device. You can find out your kindle device address, and authorise your email address to send to the kindle, in you 'manage my devices' pane of your Amazon account.
Jude Knight Hi Roxane

Look for Candle's Christmas Chair by Jude Knight on any of the retailers you patronise, and there'll be a place to post a review.

Here on Goodreads, you can write a review when you rate the book. As soon as you mark the number of stars you want, Goodreads will pop up the question 'Thanks for rating. Write a review?' If you click on that, you'll go straight into a review box.

If you want to write a review for a book you've already rated, set the Read this book status back to Want to read, and then redo the rating. It'll offer you the same question. Good luck. I look forward to seeing your review.
Jude Knight When I was writing Farewell to Kindness (due out in April) I needed someone to diagnose sabotage on an invalid chair that fell apart during a line dance.

Min Avery stepped out of the crowd, followed by her husband. A Viscountess who was also an invalid chair maker? How did this happen?

Candle's Christmas Chair is the result. It's the backstory that the Averys shared with me when I asked them how two such different people got together.
Jude Knight I keep writing. If it isn't any good, I can always throw it out. But I write 500 words per day, no matter what. This year, I'm aiming at 1300 words a day in order to meet my publication commitments.
Jude Knight I'm currently working on a set of short stories to publish before Christmas this year, and Embracing Prudence, which was formerly called Encouraging Prudence. I'm also continuing research for A Raging Madness, the second in the Golden Redepennings series. My Christmas novella in the 2015 Bluestocking Belles box set is a Golden Redepennings prequel.
