I'm currently very excited to be working on the final instalment to the Project Ark trilogy. The book is called Planet Salvation and follows the whole cast of characters from the Project Ark and Operation Earth stories. 16 year old Mia McAdams is central to the plot, where Earthlings and Usonians must learn to integrate on the utopian planet, Usonia.

Great question! Strangely, I didn’t find creating the planet Usonia difficult at all… I actually imagined the world before I came up with the story or the characters, so that part flowed.
I’m obsessed with 50s architecture and it made sense to me that a planet colonised during that decade would have a beautiful retro-futuristic style. I’m also lucky enough to live in Sydney so when I was creating the natural elements of the planet, I was very much inspired by the stunning landscapes we have here in Australia.
My only difficulty was deciding how closely the planet should resemble Earth. I really wanted readers to be able to relate to the idea of living on the planet, while at the same time transporting them somewhere special. Hopefully I achieved that balance!
