FAT Girlfriend should appeal to anyone who enjoys comedy, action, adventure, thriller, romantic, humour, road-trip, and Mister Men novels. In short, my target reader is anyone who's prepared to stump up a pound or so to buy it. The accuracy of the motorway journeys and the train trips means you could also use it in place of satellite navigation or a railway timetable, so nobody has an excuse not to buy it, really.

It's not really inspiration that I need to write. I'm an incredibly grumpy and unsociable person and if I'm writing it means I don't have to talk to anyone.

I was incredibly bored in a business meeting one day, and decided to write about what thoughts were in my mind. It's not pretty, and even I'm disturbed when I read it back. However, it became one of the chapters for FAT Girlfriend, and I built the rest of the book around it.
