L. Sydney Fisher Hello, my fellow book lovers! Interesting question. I often wonder why there are so many uncanny coincidences in my life. For years, I have experienced deja vu, and I have met people who seemed strangely familiar to me. There have been times when the feeling was so strong that I was unable to shake it off, and it has stayed with me for months at a time. Reincarnation may be a part of the answer, but I am not certain. I expect these coincidences to remain a lifelong mystery.
L. Sydney Fisher Thank you for the question! That's hard to say because most of what I read these days is based on real life characters or events, and I frequently research historical records when planning future book projects. I become enchanted by the former lives of my characters who may now haunt the places where they once lived and/or died. I find their stories fascinating and sometimes heartbreaking, but in the end, it's their stories that find their way between the pages of my books.

Just recently, I was reading a story about a true life haunting in Georgia. The story centered around a young woman who had fallen in love with a man deemed unsuitable for her. When the Civil War broke out, the young man left but vowed to return and marry her in spite of her family's opposition. As you would guess, he never returned. But she loved him so much that she waited for him all those years and ended up locking herself in her upstairs room. When she finally passed away, she was still wearing the promise ring that her lover had given her. This angered her brother so much that he had the ring removed from her corpse and thrown into a nearby lake. To this day, the spirit of this young woman has been seen walking around the outer banks of the lake. Perhaps she is still looking for her lost promise ring...
L. Sydney Fisher Hi, Ted. Thanks so much for the question! Congrats on finishing your second book in the Phoenix trilogy. Yes, my Phoenix book is due in the Fall. I read your profile and book description for your Phoenix project. Very interesting! My project is much different than yours even though I do have the terrorist element going on as well....My story has been brewing for about four years after being inspired while I was doing research.
L. Sydney Fisher Usually I swear a lot and pace the floor. If that doesn't work, I drown myself in research. Research and reading almost always stimulates me to write.
L. Sydney Fisher This question could just as easily be asked for an artist, a painter, a musician, etc. Writing is an outlet and a necessity for me. It feels natural. It is something that I do, not because I need another hobby. I write because it is a part of who I am. Do you understand? Writing is non-negotiable for me. If I don't write, I feel incomplete. Is there something in your life that fulfills you?

L. Sydney Fisher My next project scheduled for release in 2015 is a trilogy. I am building a character named Seth Phoenix...he has some extraordinary gifts... stay tuned. If you like action and drama, hang on tight! The Phoenix series is coming.
L. Sydney Fisher Inspiration comes to me on a whim. Sometimes, I am inspired to write when I meet someone new or hear a particular song that moves me. There are many things that breathe new ideas into me. It happens almost daily...
L. Sydney Fisher Hi, I have known about this story for many years. I am a living witness in the story, but all names have been changed. This project haunted me for many years until I finally decided to put it in words.
